Be prepared to swoon over this Cherry Blossom Engagement Session. Todd and Amanda are completely in love and perfect for one another. I met Amanda years ago, and was THRILLED when she reached out to me about photographing their engagement and wedding!

We had some hiccups on this session but you’d never know by how the photos turned out. First, we were anxiously waiting for the trees to bloom. We have a very small window in the spring in Western Colorado, where the blooms are on the apple trees. We went to Mountain View Winery and it’s always so quiet, serene, and beautiful. Since, we only had 4-5 days max to do these photos- as soon as the trees were ready, we had to be! We prayed the wind would work in our favor, and it did!

We did change dates a few times, but wound up with the perfect weather on photo day! Unfortunately, we were all set to go and there was a tragedy in our small town. A local place down on main street caught fire. Truly awful and scary. All of main street and the surrounding area was evacuated as a precaution. The salon where Amanda was getting her hair and make up done that day in preparation for her engagement photos, was part of that evacuation. Luckily, no one was seriously injured and our wonderful emergency response teams in town acted swiftly and efficiently to contain the fire. Amanda wound up doing her own hair and make-up, which came out awesome! In the end, we were just so thankful that everyone was okay and the situation wasn’t worse.

As you’ll be able to see in these photos, Amanda is gorgeous and I love seeing her so genuinely happy! Todd is her person and they way he looks at her is incredibly beautiful. Oh, and Amanda’s smile as she looks at Todd, like he is the answer to all her prayers, it’s magical.
