Michael and Sony’s wedding in Silverjack, Colorado, was everything you’d hope for in a mountain wedding—relaxed, full of love, and surrounded by the kind of scenery that takes your breath away. With golden aspens glowing all around and those tall rugged peaks in the background, it was a dream come true for these two and everyone lucky enough to be there.
Silverjack really brought its A-game for this wedding. The aspens were so brilliantly golden they almost didn’t seem real, and the jagged mountain peaks added that extra bit of drama to every view. Michael talked about how special this place was to him. He shared memories of his dad teaching him to fish here and honored that time with him, but celebrating this next chapter of life right in that very area.
Michael and Sony got ready in a gorgeous rented cabin, and let me tell you—those views were absolutely unreal. Mountains for days, fresh fall air, and just the perfect vibe to start their day. We did a first look with Sony and her dad on the porch and it was a beautiful moment we got to freeze in time.
I can’t forget to mention Joey, the hair and makeup artist who kept us all laughing all day. Joey has the kind of energy that lights up a room, and now I’m fully convinced that every wedding needs a Joey. We vibed right away and he was seriously an blast!
Their first look was completely magical. Their first photo location is probably one of my all-time favorites for a first look—you could see mountains, shimmering aspens, and Silverjack Reservoir stretching out in every direction. It was pure magic! Michael couldn’t take his eyes off of his soon-to-be-bride, and it was everything!
Michael and Sony kept their ceremony simple and sweet. Guests formed a semi-circle around them—which was so cozy and intimate. Such a unique and sweet idea! Sony’s dad just walked her right to the spot where they said “I do” rather than a long traditional isle walk. Their adorable puppy was a big part of the day, too. Watching how much they love him made my heart so happy.
Michael and Sony were up for anything, which made photographing their day so enjoyable. Every moment felt like something out of a dream. We had multiple different locations within a short distance that gave us such a variety of backdrops. I loved each one of them!
The more I look back on this amazing day the more I realize this was an adventure of a lifetime for Michael, Sony, and their guests. I feel so honored to have been part of it and to have captured their incredible story.
This wedding wasn’t just a day—it was an experience. Guests camped out for a few days, setting up their campers in a circle around the celebration. Dinner came from a taco truck (it was delicious, shoutout to Armando’s Tacos) dessert was a fun brownie bar, and the band absolutely crushed it with live music that had everyone dancing. Bonfires, an open bar, and a laid-back vibe tied it all together, making it such a fun and memorable weekend for everyone.

This location was such a gem to find! It was this amazing dirt path just flooded with bright golden aspens and leaves lining the edges. We had some fun here for sure!
