This Loma Colorado Wedding was epic! Truly a gorgeous day! Beautiful couple, stunning venue, and a wonderful celebration for Kylee and Carl. The story for this day is rather wild as well. This wedding was originally booked by a local photographer. However, a few days prior her husband had fallen off a 40+ foot cliff, while at work. He was in the ICU in a medically induced coma for quite a few days and Kena, his wife, did not (rightfully so) want to leave his side. She had posted on line asking for a cover, and the timing and date worked out so I was able to help out and photograph the wedding.
It was an awesome day. A bit crazy a first with having little prep time, and not knowing the couple or any of the vendors, or venue, but once we got rolling it was fantastic.
Update on Kena’s husband: He is doing very well, on his long road to recovery and home with his family! Praise the Lord!
The vendors were all fantastic to work with and it was so fun to meet so many new people that day. As irony would have it, my husband’s cousin and his family attending this wedding. The bride and his daughter had played soccer together! Small world! The venue was stunning, with plenty of space for guests to mingle, an indoor space for the reception, and a beautiful mountain backdrop for the ceremony space.
There was also a bridesmaids who had injured her foot prior to the wedding so she was in a cast and the groomsmen gave her a piggy back down the aisle! So dang sweet!
When Kylee walked down the aisle, Carl was a bit speechless. To be honest, I don’t think there was a dry eye around!
A big shout out to the florist: @countryeleganceflorist for designing gorgeous soft blue and neutral bouquets. If I could pick my favorite current color for weddings, I would likely have to go with different shades of blue with lots of off whites and soft tans. The color palette for this wedding was perfect!
The Wedding Party was so fun to work with! They went along with all my crazy requests and had so much fun while doing it! The wedding where the wedding party is fun, excited, and energetic it just naturally flows to the the wedding guests and vendors working it, making the day that much more awesome!
Carl + Kylee are so sweet together. They were naturally fun and energetic and their vows were so heartfelt and personal. Being able to capture their love and their connection was so much fun. The day was full of surprises. During their first dance, he flipped her completely and all the guests loved it! For the garter, they did a lasso attached to her leg to get it off. So unique and something I haven’t seen yet! Almost everyone made it on the dance floor that night, the DJ had music pumping the whole time, and everyone was having a blast!
Shoutouts to: Kylee’s Bridal shop, her dress was stunning! As well as the Bridesmaid’s dresses, I loved the blue! Her day-of-coordinator also did an amazing job and was so helpful that day!
We also had one of the most gorgeous Western Colorado Sunsets ever! It was breathtaking. Yellow turned to orange, and moved to pink and purple. The sky was really showing off for us, and made for the most incredible sunset images!
