The Christensen Family | Grand Junction Family Photos Near the Colorado National Monument

All the love and beauty with this Fruita Colorado Family Session

Some families just become part of your story over the years.

The Christensen family is one of those for me.

Every time they reach out about scheduling another session, I get genuinely excited. Being able to photograph a family through different seasons of life is one of the best parts of being a family photographer.

I first met this family a while ago, and it feels like every time we schedule the next session there are more little ones running around. Watching their family grow over the years has been such a beautiful thing to witness.

This particular session took place on their property between Grand Junction and Fruita, and it could not be a more incredible location. Their land stretches wide and open, with the Colorado National Monument rising dramatically in the background.

It’s absolutely stunning.

I always love photographing on private property because it opens the door for new scenery and little adventures you wouldn’t find anywhere else. Every corner feels a little different, and the views out there never disappoint.

When the girls stepped out in their dresses, I knew right away we were in for something special.

They had these beautiful fall dresses that fit the setting perfectly, and the colors looked incredible against the landscape. Sometimes you just know a session is going to turn out gorgeous from the very first few minutes.

And sure enough… look at these beauties.

One of the most meaningful parts of this session was getting to photograph multiple generations together. We captured photos of the entire family, and then smaller groups with each of their own families as well.

Those kinds of images become incredibly special over time.

Years from now, those photos will hold so much more meaning than anyone realizes in the moment.

The Christensens are always so kind and welcoming, and I feel incredibly grateful every time they invite me back to photograph their family again.

Being trusted as someone’s family photographer year after year is something I never take lightly.

I already can’t wait for the next session.
