Palisade Senior Session

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Sophia and her mom for her senior session in Palisade, and from the moment we started, I knew this shoot would be special. Sophia is not only gorgeous and sweet but also shares her first name with my late Oma, who had just passed away a week before this session. It felt extra special, making this Palisade Senior Session all the more meaningful to me. Sophia and her mom were exceptionally kind and sweet, creating such a comfortable atmosphere for the entire session.

Sophia was absolutely amazing in front of the camera. She had this natural confidence that made photographing her a breeze. I loved her outfit choices, too—each one fit her personality perfectly and brought out her sense of style. Whether she was posing or just having fun in between shots, her sweet demeanor and warm smile really stood out. Her kindness and easy-going nature made it one of those sessions that just flowed effortlessly.

We chose Clark & Co’s distillery in Palisade as the backdrop for Sophia’s session, and it was a fantastic decision. The variety of settings at the distillery offered so much diversity in the photos. From the rustic elements to the open spaces, every corner had a unique feel that gave Sophia’s photos a great mix of backdrops. We moved through different spots, and each one seemed even more beautiful than the last, making the entire shoot feel cohesive and fun. I’m so thankful when I get to photograph kids like this and a very small part of their journey.

This senior session with Sophia was not only a joy to shoot but also a special one I’ll never forget. I love the pop of color this outfit added! It stood out perfectly as the sun set behind us on the Bookcliff mountains in Palisade.
