I had an amazing Colorado National Monument session with one truly beautiful family. Their love, humor, and close bond shine through every image. I first met Shonna over 12 years ago when our husbands were in the Army. Back then, she took me under her wing and helped me navigate Army life (and all its crazy acronyms!). We quickly formed a special friendship, sharing countless laughs and unforgettable memories.

Our Colorado National Monument session took place in February. It was a little chilly, but the breathtaking views made up for it. We even squeezed in some quick engagement photos of their eldest daughter and her new fiancé.

This family is full of heart and personality. John, Shonna, and their kids continue to inspire those around them. Their oldest daughter is a proud veteran, and their youngest has started an awesome business making the cutest hats, scrunchies, and accessories. Check her out if you get the chance!

John is seriously the funniest guy I know—I can’t even begin to describe how I’ve walked away numerous times with stomach cramps from laughing. From our epic Cyclone dance at my wedding to our adventures 4-wheeling (and me being a total weenie) in Ridgway. We are the luckiest to call them friends!
