Let’s talk about one of the biggest stress-saving, sanity-saving, photo-enhancing moves you can make for your wedding day: hiring a planner or a day-of coordinator.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched moms, sisters, and aunts try to juggle decorating tables, checking in vendors, and tracking down groomsmen—all while trying to get themselves ready. It’s a lot. And while they’re trying to hold everything together, they’re missing the actual experience of the day. A planner (or even just a day-of coordinator) takes that pressure off and gives your people the freedom to actually enjoy it with you.
It also makes my job as your photographer so much smoother. When I have a go-to person who knows your timeline, your family dynamics, and where things are—I’m not pulling you aside to ask where your bouquet is, or trying to find your cousin for family portraits. Everything flows better, and that means more time for what really matters: the moments you actually want to remember.
Planners typically help:
I’ve worked with some amazing planners, and two I absolutely love are:
I got to work with them during a Moab wedding, and let me tell you—they were incredible. The weather turned wild right before dinner (think: thunderstorm, downpour, lighting crashing kind of wild) and they handled it with total calm and efficiency. They adjusted the setup, kept everyone safe, and made sure the night didn’t lose its magic.
Leor is an absolute gem. I know her personally and can say she is one of the kindest, most organized people I’ve met. She truly cares about her couples and has a way of making everyone feel taken care of. She’s based here in Montrose but travels all over for weddings. If you’re looking for someone who brings both heart and professionalism to your day—she’s it.
Whether you’re planning a big wedding or a small elopement, having someone in your corner to handle the details can make all the difference. It gives you the chance to breathe, to be present, and to fully enjoy the day you’ve been dreaming about.
