This Ridgway wedding is nothing short of magical, with a subtle theme of “Under the Stars” woven through every detail. Tyler and Marissa actually live in LA but came out to the Western Slope to celebrate! Tons of family and friends stood by their side on their special day. From the sweet first look to the evening reception, the day was filled with love. Including fun, and poignant moments honoring those who were no longer with us. Tyler, the groom, paid tribute to his late father, who was remembered and celebrated throughout the day.
How it started:
The day began in Ouray, where the couple’s first look set the tone for the rest of the wedding. With the gorgeous San Juan Mountains behind them, it was magical. When Marissa approached, she gifted him a pin with a photo of his dad, which he then placed on his boutonniere. Marissa had the same made with her grandparents photo on it and placed it on her bouquet. It was a deeply emotional moment, filled with the weight of memories and love. Truly, you can see they captured the significance of family on this special day. This Ridgway wedding shows a celebration of the couple’s future but a way to honor their loved ones who were there in spirit.
The ceremony took place at the Ouray 4H Center in Ridgway. The venue has an epic backdrop of open skies, incredible mountain views, and Colorado’s natural beauty. Marissa’s bridesmaids, dressed in stunning gold dresses, added a vibrant and fun touch to the day. Seriously, they were so fun to work with! And I loved all the laughter they shared as the day went on. As thire vows were exchanged, it was clear that the presence of loved ones, both here and in memory, played a significant role in the day. Family photos were displayed throughout the venue, keeping the spirit of those no longer with us close to heart.
The Extras:
Oh hey, let me mention . . . they had a firetruck at their ceremony site? Tyler is a firefighter in LA and contacted the local fire department to ask if they would have a truck there! SO FUN! And, made for some sweet photos!
Afterwards, the celebration moved to Bella Vino in Ridgway for the reception, and the owners did a phenomenal job encompassing the “Under the Stars” theme. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, with twinkling lights creating a beautiful night-sky effect. Truly, the perfect extension of the wedding’s theme, bringing the couple’s dream to life in a cozy yet elegant way. Their blend of starlit decor and rustic charm at Bella Vino made it an unforgettable experience for the guests.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening came during the first dance. Tyler and Marissa started their dance to “Fly Me to the Moon,” keeping with the celestial theme, before surprising everyone with a fun remix. They broke into a lively, choreographed routine, and all the guests loved it! This playful moment reflected the joy and excitement that filled every corner of this Ridgway wedding.
As the day came to a close, we took some time to capture epic sunset shots in downtown Ridgway. It was the perfect ending to a wedding day that was not only visually stunning but deeply meaningful in every way.
