JD + Charley’s Wedding day was full of love and the most gorgeous golden hour sunset! I loved every minute of it! This wedding really made me fall in love with my career so much more! Truly, being a wedding photographer is so much more than just taking pictures of that one day. If you’ve been following along my journey for a hot minute you are familiar with how client based my business is. JD and Charley’s wedding was an awesome reminder of how unique and awesome my job is. I get to serve people in a different way than most professions allow.
Years ago, I got to take JD’s senior photos, but on the ends of his session was his older sister and his younger sister, (and soon his younger brother will follow). Four kids, three senior photos so far. Talk about an honor. I’ve photographed JD’s extended family as well, where I got to meet so many people that wold later attend this wedding. If you haven’t checked out JD and Charley’s Engagement session, go scroll through that gorgeous mountain backdrop. After you swooned over how adorable they are, go to his younger sister’s blog and see how gorgeous that girl is!
My husband was the second shooter on this Wedding, which was awesome in a couple ways. 1.) I kind of like that guy and 2.) he is cousins with the groom’s cousins (don’t ask me how all this works, he has a million and twelve relatives and their family tree confuses the heck out of me).
The sweet couple got married at the Old Pioneer town in Cedaredge CO and it was so perfect for them! JD was telling me that the venue they had their reception has a history in his family. The past 3 generations have all gotten married there! How cool! Oh and the church! The church that JD and Charley said their vows in looked like it came out of a story book. It’s this ridiculously charming little white chapel with beautiful light surrounded by lush greens and trees. Yes, I was being super geeky when I saw it.
From the second we arrived to the second we left we felt welcomed by the family. Getting to know my couples and their families is so important to me. It makes Wedding days better in every way.
JD just adores his bride and that definitely came through in their photos. Check out some of favorites from their big day.
