This Dallas Creek Photo Session was magical. It also just happen to be with one of my most favorite families ever! I’ve been photographing this family since I started photography and I look forward to their session every year!
I love watching these sweet girls grow with every passing session. They are incredible sweet together and I love watching Emma teach her little sister all the things! We had so much fun at this session! At one point I asked the little girls to ‘dance around and show me their favorite moves’ let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Even the joggers going by were saying ‘awe’.
Truly, this family is one of the nicest and sweetest you’ll ever meet. It is such an honor to take their pictures every year! Each time, I say it’s my favorite. But, I do think this last time was! (Last time’s was amazing, but so cold!) Their coordinated their outfits perfectly, and they were soft neutral colors (my fave). The sun was gorgeous and gave us the best light, and our location was fantastic- with a view of the San Juan mountain range. There were some mosquitos and ants that were a bit annoying but nothing that some bug spray couldn’t fix!
Side note: You’ll notice the older sister in these photos- Emma – she was in Shannon’s belly when I first started taking their photos! She is 7 now! Wow! But, again, how awesome that I’ve had the privilege to capture them as their family grows.
We took these photos at the Dallas Creek entrance to Ridgway State Park. I love Ridgway State Park! Most of the sessions I do there are at the Dutch Charlie cut off, so this was a totally different view and topography. I love being able to try out new locations- especially when they turn out to be this beautiful. The sidewalk at this location worked perfectly with our light and I love how it curves around to use as a lead line!
