I'm a Jersey girl living in the Colorado mountains- I'm a sucker for glowly light and deep conversations over a glass of whiskey . . .

Meet Ashley

This summer mountain top engagement session was so much fun! Torrance and Damon are so sweet together and it definitely came through in their photos. They made everything flow smoothly and were great to work with.

Originally, our plans were to take engagement photos up at Rife Falls, but had to reschedule due to sickness. We decided on Ridgway State Park as a closer location. Which, is a favorite of mine; especially for magical engagement portraits! We had some haze due to an unfortunate number of forest fires but didn’t let that stop us from creating some epic mountain portraits.

I’ve mentioned this previously but it’s worth mentioning again. Engagement sessions are so important! Of course you want all the photos to remember this exciting time, but, there is so much more to it! Think of engagement sessions like practice for your Wedding Day. Getting to know your photographer, letting them get to know you individually and as a couple, and creating a rapport with one another will be extremely beneficial come your big day. On Wedding Days, my couples already know certain things to be aware of, certain poses, and are familiar with my workflow. Not only does this help the day run more smoothly and efficiently, but there is just overall less stress and pressure on your big day. This is also a great added benefit to hiring a professional for your Wedding!

Damon and Torrance are both finishing up college and are excited to plan their lives together. I love their connection, they just get each other and I think that is the most beautiful thing. Check out their wedding blog coming soon.

Here are some of my favorite portraits from Damon and Torrance’s Summer Mountain Top Engagement session, I think the fog actually gave the session a bit more of a romantic vibe- not mad about it.
