This late fall family session was so sweet! Their son, recently engaged, two teenage girls, mom and dad, and the most adorable little 2 year old girl made for a super fun session.

It was the last week of November so the temperatures in Western Colorado were starting to drop pretty drastically. The sun starts to go down well before 5 so we started around 3:30 and were able to capture some amazing light and glow at the Ute Indian Museum. You’ll see quite a few of my sessions around this area. It is a beautiful local museum in town and always gives me great options for magical light. I love having a quick, easy. and attractive option for my go-to. If you are visiting Montrose, this is definitely a cool place to put on your list to check out.

This was the last session I took for 2023. I decided back in September that, for the first time ever, I was going to take completely off for December. There are a few reasons for this, but to put it simply. I was so blessed this past summer and fall with amazing clients. My schedule was more than full. I met tons of wonderful people, traveled across the country, went all over Colorado, and loved every minute of it.

But, if you’ve been following me for any length of time, you’ll see that I have 5 babies. Yes, 5. They are my heartbeat. I have always been a lover of the holiday season. I know these days of magic won’t last forever, so taking off December from Photo Sessions was my way to have slower mornings, relaxed days in the kitchen making beautiful messes, and be present every evening doing all the Christmas things with them. And it was, every bit as magical as I had imaged.

I was asked if I was going to do this again, or make it an annual thing to take off of December. I do not know that answer to that question yet. It will depend. But, the thought has crossed my mind. It is 4 weeks. 4 weeks of giving my complete attention to my kids, without telling me ‘Yes, soon’ or ‘not right now’.
