The magic of summer sessions. Let’s hear it for summer—the season of golden sunsets, wildflowers, and warm, glowy light that just hits different. If you’ve been thinking about updating your family photos (or doing a couple’s session just for fun), summer in Western Colorado might be the perfect time.
There’s something about this season that brings everything to life. The tall grasses sway just right, wildflowers pop up in the prettiest colors, and the skies? Soft, golden, and chef’s kiss perfect. Summer is when the fields open up and the light gets dreamy. There are so many great spots to choose from! But, I’m always open to adventuring to new locations!
One of the best parts about living here? Western Colorado gets over 300 days of sunshine a year. That means more reliable weather, fewer reschedules, and none of the sticky-hot humidity or surprise storms you get elsewhere. Our summers are warm but not miserable—just right for running barefoot in a field or slow dancing in the golden light and that is the magic of summer sessions!
Summer sessions start later in the evening when the light is just right—usually around 7:00–7:30 PM depending on the month.
It works out perfectly:
We’ve got wide open spaces, mountain backdrops, wildflower fields, and quiet creeks all within reach. Whether you’re dreaming of something vibrant and bold or peaceful and simple, there’s no shortage of perfect spots.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to book a photo session—this is it. Summer won’t last forever, but the memories (and the photos) will.
✨ Let’s make it happen. I’d love to photograph your family, your love, or whatever season you’re in right now.
