The Alexander Family – Western Colorado Session
I’ve been photographing the Alexander family for at least the past seven years, and it’s honestly so cool to capture their photos every year. Watching their three girls grow up through my lens has been amazing, and I seriously love getting to see how much they’ve changed each time. It’s like catching up with old friends, but with cameras involved!
Katie, the mom, always comes up with the cutest outfit ideas and knows exactly where she wants the session to be. This year, we did the session on their newly bought property, where they’re planning to renovate an older house and create tons of space for their animals. Let me tell you, their property is gorgeous. Not only does it have the most amazing sunsets, but it also feels like it goes on forever. We’re talking ponds, trees everywhere, and we even saw a bunch of elk on our drive down to the riverbottom area.
We had so many fun spots to shoot in, and of course, we took Dean’s annual “funeral” photo. I can’t even explain how this started, but he insists on it every year and it always cracks me up. Honestly, this family always has me laughing—there’s never a dull moment with them. I’m so grateful I get to photograph them year after year and capture these memories for them.

I love this shot so much! I think years from now, this will be extra special showing their sister bond! In fact, now I want to take a photo like this for my three little girls!
