When I think of examples of some of my very favorite family sessions, this one is pretty close to the top. This session was more of a drive than most, but it was so worth it. We took these in the heart of Mt. Crested Butte and it was nothing short of magical.

Olivia reached out to me a few months prior about wanting a family session while they were visiting and staying with her in-laws in Mt. Crested Butte. Her husband, originally from the area has many fond memories in this town.

Meeting new people from all walks of life is still one of the things I love most about my job. I loved getting to know this family. The husband is a private pilot and their sweet boy, Harrison, was so much fun to photograph. We got lucky and saw a few deer galloping around in the mountains and to say Harrison was excited would be an understatement.

The scenery of this session was immaculate (I told my husband, we are coming back early next fall to do our own family’s photos here). The mountains encircle you on all sides, it is peaceful, serene, and breathtaking.

This session was extra fun for me because I got to take my crew along for the ride. We made a whole day out of it! We grabbed some lunch and mini doughnuts (so good) downtown without rushing around. Then, we strolled around on main street popping in our favorite book stores. The kids also had a blast walking around toy stores, and taking in all the beautiful sites around us. It was the perfect day trip.

Another reason I loved this session was not only were they so sweet and great to work with but, their outfit choices were perfect. Olivia’s dress was so lovely and the soft blues and khaki pants the boys wore paired with it beautiful.
